The Business Travel Magazine has carried off one of the top accolades at this year’s Travel Press Awards, securing the Travel Trade Publication of the Year title for the second year in succession.
The judges said “they were hugely impressed with the easy-on-the-eye style of the magazine, the content, design and the good use of signposting, making the title and easy and enjoyable read.”
The magazine’s Managing Editor, Alan Orbell, also carried off the top writer’s award being the judges’ choice for Travel Trade Journalist of the Year. Orbell was one of four journalists working on The Business Travel Magazine to have been short-listed for this prestigious travel industry award. Also short-listed in the same category were Editor Gill Upton and Deputy Editor Andy Hoskins - who won the award in 2009. Hoskins was also short-listed for Travel Trade Feature of the Year for his piece on how travel management companies responded to the ash cloud crisis.
Meanwhile TBTM regular contributer Laura Gelder, was also short-listed for Young Journalist of the Year award. The UK Travel Press Awards are designed to recognise excellence and achievement in travel writing, photography and broadcasting.
