THE HOTEL: Stoke Park is a five-star hotel and country club close to Heathrow, Windsor and London, easily accessed from the M4, M40 and M25 motorways. The hotel has 49 guestrooms split between the grand Mansion House and the contemporary Pavillion where each room is individually designed.
THE CHECK-IN: We were greeted with a warm welcome at the Mansion House and given a brief introduction to the history of the hotel, including its many film appearances including Bridget Jones and James Bond’s Goldfinger. An offer to collect our bags from the car was then followed by an effortless check in at the Pavilion.
THE ROOM: The first floor Junior Suite was spacious, with views over the grass tennis courts and countryside beyond. The beautifully furnished bedroom boasted a large sofa and coffee table, dressing table, large satellite television, iPod docking station, telephones and broadband internet. The large marble en-suite bathroom had a heated floor, bath and walk-in shower, plus Elemis toileteries.
THE BUSINESS: There are eight separate function rooms available for hire. Day delegate rates start from £95 (ex. VAT) and 24 hour delegate rates from £320 (ex. VAT). Private dining is available for up to 230 guests.
THE RESTAURANT: There is formal dining on offer in the Mansion House dining room as well as a more relaxed option, the Orangery, which serves breakfast, classic dishes and afternoon teas. The Pavillion’s San Marco restaurant offers authentic Italian cuisine. There are also two bars.
THE FACILITIES: The facilities are extensive, and include a 27-hole championship golf course, 13 tennis courts, spa and treatment rooms, indoor pool and gym.
THE VERDICT: An outstanding five-star hotel in beautiful, quiet surroundings with great access to London, Heathrow Airport and
the M25. It has the facilities – both business and leisure distractions – to accommodate most requirements of corporate meetings, events and activities.
