North American hotel group Loews has opened its first Live! hotel in Arlington, Texas, within the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.
Developed at a cost of $150million, the 14-storey Live! by Loews Arlington is located between the Dallas Cowboys’ iconic AT&T Stadium, the Texas Rangers’ new Globe Life Park and the Texas Live! entertainment complex, and is a 15-minute drive from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
Targeting corporate business on week-nights and leisure guests at weekends, the 300-room luxury hotel has 35,000sqft of meetings and events space, the Cut & Bourbon steakhouse and bar, River Market café, outdoor Clover Club lounge and an outdoor infinity pool.
Guestrooms fall into three categories, all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, modern décor, baseball-themed art and high-end amenities. There are also 23 suites.
“Our target is 60% corporate business and 40% leisure,” says Scott Nassar, the hotel’s Managing Director, who reports “phenomenal” early bookings particularly in the corporate and pharmaceutical sectors.
“This is a beautiful property but it’s not just a hotel – it’s a resort. It’s a new concept and we’re looking for more of these sorts of locations,” he adds.
The hotel design reflects the local sporting heritage while a number of local companies have been engaged as suppliers, including Salters Bros. coffee and Legal Draft brewery.
“We wanted to be good neighbours and promote these companies. It’s important to be a part of the community,” says Nassar.
The new concept will be replicated with similar hotels in St Louis, Missouri, and Kansas City, with both Live! hotels due to open in spring 2020.
The group now comprises more than 21 hotels across the United States and Canada including properties in New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Atlanta.
