The Marriott hotel group will open more than 30 hotels across its luxury brands in 2020, including properties in Tokyo, Reykjavik, Melbourne and Mexico City.
A first Ritz-Carlton hotel is expected to open in Morocco while it will extend its footprint in Japan and Mexico with new hotels in Nikko and Mexico City respectively.
Marriott’s St. Regis brand will arrive in Cairo and on The Palm, Dubai, next year, while W Hotels are due to open their doors in Milan, Rome, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chengdu and Melbourne.
Lifestyle brand Edition will arrive in Reykjavik, with a further ten properties in the pipeline for 2020 around the world, including Tokyo and Dubai.
The group anticipates Luxury Collection additions in Nashville and Budapest, and JW Marriott additions in Istanbul, Muscat and Monterrey, among other destinations.
“Our plan to open more than 30 luxury properties in 2020 – an average of about three exciting new hotels per month – speaks to the remarkable momentum that brands such as St. Regis, The Ritz-Carlton and Edition have with affluent travellers, our Marriott Bonvoy members and hotel developers around the world,” says Tony Capuano, EVP and Global Chief Development Officer, Marriott International.
“Each year, our luxury portfolio continues to grow in both quality and quantity in strategic destinations around the world.”
